Since the amendment of the Immigration Act in 2013, you first have to apply at the embassy or consulate of the Dominican Republic in your country for a so-called RESIDENCE VISA. Without a residence visa, we cannot start arranging the residence permit, which is a condition for a permit to legally settle in the country, work there and initiate the naturalisation process to obtain citizenship in the Dominican Republic.

To file an application for permanent residence, you will need the following documents at least:

-Residential visa of the Dominican Republic

-Your existing birth certificate

-Statement from the Criminal Register attesting your integrity

-Valid passport

-Residential visa of the Dominican Republic in your passport

All the documents have to be apostilled or legalised and officially translated into Spanish.
